focused on community upliftment
OUR MISSION
The MINAS Venture exists to provide financial assistance for a pre-determined period to those called to uplift an area or a community. This is done by providing a monthly income to specified individuals leading projects or organisations. The pressure of securing daily living expenses will be alleviated whilst the organisation is established, grown and developed to a place of financial independence. These resources will enable a complete focus on their vocation and the primary goal of community upliftment.
“What you sow into the lives of others is the harvest you will reap tomorrow.”

What motivates you?
The thought that everything I do and the way that I approach real life situations is constantly being watched by my children. I want them, and others around me, to be inspired not to let anything stop them from trying new things and going after their dreams.
What does The MINAS Venture mean to you?
I believe that as a follower of Jesus, I am called to share His love to encourage and uplift those around me. The MINAS Venture is the vessel by which we can reach those who are outside of our spheres of influence. By supporting those who are called to specific communities, more can be accomplished than if we just did it alone.

What motivates you?
I love seeing people reach their full potential. Our potential is best realised as we journey towards knowing God and glorifying Him in everything.
What does The MINAS Venture mean to you?
It is incredible to think that we can help to change a community simply by relieving financial pressure on an individual for a period of time. There are many willing to get involved in people’s lives to facilitate that change. Sometimes they just need the encouragement and the means to begin – one step at a time to lasting change. It’s about helping others embark on their journey to knowing God and glorifying Him.

What motivates you?
My primary motivation is to make a positive impact in every situation I find myself and, in doing so, leave a legacy of upliftment and fulfilment in the world around me.
What does The MINAS Venture mean to you?
Seeds (as we know) are where new life begins, but they have to endure great hardship in the initial stages as they develop and take root. That is why most of what you see when you look at a seed is a “food store” to sustain it during germination. The MINAS Venture for me is that germination food store. Its purpose is to sustain new projects and initiatives while they take root and develop their own support structures. I am passionate about South Africa (in particular, Port Elizabeth and the Eastern Cape) and The MINAS Venture is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in the nurturing of new life in our communities through the projects and initiatives we support.

What does The MINAS Venture mean to you?
The MINAS Venture is about legacy. It’s about ploughing into something that will extend past my lifetime. It’s also about being the hands and feet of Jesus in a tangible, practical manner.

What motivates you?
Enabling people and organisations to grow in a sustainable way and to achieve their God-inspired objectives.
What does The MINAS Venture mean to you?
The MINAS Venture is about creating a storehouse of seeds that will be sown into people and communities to uplift everyone and advance the Kingdom. It enables a structure that means each donation keeps on giving for years to come, amplifying its effect tremendously. It will meet needs and create freedom to grow – what could be better?
PROJECTS
Mervyn Buezacht, of Family Revival Centre, was our first beneficiary. The church is situated in Gelvandale and is very much a part of community upliftment in the area. One of their most recent projects has been feeding the needy. In December 2018, they fed 3 218 people. This continued into January and February 2019, where they fed a further 10 723 people.
Furthermore, one of the young leaders in the church also runs a full-time out-patient drug rehabilitation programme for people of all ages. The church also runs various programmes for youth, young adults and married couples. These programmes teach and encourage the congregation to live full lives, reach their potential, and give back to their community.
On the 12th of March they celebrated the 2nd anniversary of Mervyn’s church. Instead of having a celebratory banquet, they decided to go out and feed the less fortunate as a sign of thanksgiving. The community they chose to go and bless is a settlement between Malabar and Westering.

FINANCIAL MODEL
The below financial model was a God-inspired idea and the reason why The Minas Venture was started.
Two Important Aspects
– Fund Raising and Sponsorships
– Sustainability
To create sustainability, the capital received from Fund Raising and Sponsorships will be invested and the income received from the investment will fund the Beneficiary/ies and running costs in The Minas Venture (see split below).
All monies received into The Minas Venture will have an 80/20 split. 80% of all monies received is to be allocated to beneficiaries while 20% of all monies is to be used in The Minas Venture as running costs.
Example:
- R200 000 (Received from Fund raising and Sponsorships)
- 6% pa interest rate
- R12 000 pa interest earned
- R1 000 pm (80/20)
- R800 pm (Payable to Beneficiary/ies)
- R200 pm (Expenses within The Minas Venture)
Once the above principles are applied and we stick to the financial model, over time we will create sustainability and we will be able to fund numerous beneficiaries.
Another aspect of the financial model is working with churches that can provide good governance/ biblical principles to the prospective beneficiaries. This will be important because when we withdraw funding from the ministry/beneficiary/ies, we do not want that ministry/beneficiary/ies to close their doors.
